Nurse Basket Printable

Fun fact: I worked in a health care setting for over 7 years as an Experience Designer. At the time I worked on the hospital campuses, I learned two things very quickly—one: clinical teams work HARD and they are passionate about what they do and two: they like food and caffeine.

I know there are a million things on your mind when you are pregnant, and it might seem like a gift fo the nursing staff is the last thing you need to be spending your energy on when you haven’t even figured out what you need to pack for yourself. But, I promise if you have the time it is going to be greatly appreciated by the people working hard to keep you and your baby safe. I mean it’s really the least we can do for the people that will be changing not only our baby’s diapers….but in reality, ours as well!

Just remember, you don’t have to go overboard with it, keep it simple! Next time you are out grocery shopping or putting a Target drive up order in—add a few things to your list to whip these baskets together.

I used two baskets that I already had but you can buy ones if you prefer. The Target dollar section is a great place to get an adorable option for $5 or under. I chose to bring two baskets because at my particular hospital—you deliver on one floor and then you are transferred to another for recovery, so I wanted each team to have one. You might be on the same floor where you deliver, but keep in mind there is a night and day shift so the two baskets will work no matter what your particular situation is.

Items that I decided included in mine:

  • Espresso shots

  • Mini Diet Coke cans

  • Chocolates

  • Gum

  • Popcorn (both microwave and some Boom Chicka Pop for on-the-go)

  • Pretzel Thins

  • Breakfast bars

  • Granola bars

  • Brownie Brittle

  • Other candy

  • Crystal Light Energy packets

  • Chai Tea packets

Again, you can get as little or as much variety as you want—even if you just picked one beverage and snack option—that would be plenty! It truly is the thought that counts.

To finish the baskets off, add a thank you note to let them know who the basket is from and express your gratitude. Simply sign your name on the FREE PRINTABLE and you can even have your partner add your room number if you’d like. It won’t hurt to be the room that gave the goodies ;)
